A number of studies resulted in mixed results among participants indicating that VM may not be effective for all. In addition, the verdict on who should be the model has not been resolved. There are some indications that peers and self are more effective models than adults. Also unclear at this time is whether first-person or third-person video view is more effective. A first-person view would show only the hands of the model from the participant’s perspective, while the third-person video would take the perspective of a person watching the model.
