Describe the effect of miotic drugs to that of mydriatic drugs

Answer: Miotic drugs cause the pupil to constrict and this increases the outflow of aqueous humor and decreases the intraocular pressure to treat glaucoma. Mydriatic drugs are used to dilate the pupil and paralyze the muscles of accommodation; they are used to treat inflammation of the iris and uveal tract of the eye and prior to performing an eye examination.
