What are the features of segregation and how did it impact racial minorities’ everyday lives

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Varies. Segregation impacted racial minorities not only in the United States but also in countries such as South Africa. Segregation was based on race and legally dividing neighborhoods by racial categories. White created restrictive covenants, which is a feature of segregation prevented Blacks from living in their neighborhoods and surrounding neighborhoods. Segregation prevented Blacks from not only living in certain neighborhoods but also prevented them from shopping at certain stores. Schools were also racially segregated as well as public drinking fountains. Segregation still impacts low-income neighborhoods which tend to be majority racial minorities. Schools in these neighborhoods tend to underperform and have more hazardous pollution. Additionally, segregation impacts Blacks and Latinx household income and social class.
