Discuss how governments control the various aspects of a mixed economy

Please provide the best answer for the statement.

Answer: Many economists advocate the retention of market systems and private ownership but suggest modifying them with the use of government regulation to get rid of the most obvious defects. The combination of government regulation, partially free markets, and limited property rights create the mixed economy. The mixed economy retains a market and private property system but relies on government intervention to remedy deficiencies. Governments transfer money from the wealthy in the form of taxes and distribute it to the disadvantaged in the form of welfare and social services. Monopolies are regulated, nationalized, or outlawed. Monetary and fiscal policies try to regulate employment levels and regulatory agencies ensure firms do not engage in socially harmful behavior.
