What is meant by the "fat finger" problem? Howdoes it affect user-interface design?
"Fat finger" occurs when a user has trouble invoking a particular function or area on a small mobile device touch screen. If the controls are too small, or very close together, it is easy to touch the wrong portion of the screen. All of us have typed wrong characters due to fat finger problems.
User interface design for small devices should make the controls large enough, and separated enough to avoid fat finger problems. One technique it help, is to provide feedback, such as the control changing size or color when it is invoked.
