Briefly describe the two techniques used to check valve stem-to-guide clearance.
What will be an ideal response?
1.Use a split ball gauge and a micrometer. Measure at the top, bottom, and center.
2.Using a dial indicator, rock the valve back and forth. When measuring with an indicator, divide the measurement by 2 for the amount of valve-to-guide clearance. Hold the valve in its normally open position during the measurement. A hose can be cut to the correct length to hold each valve open the correct amount.
