Schutz described three interpersonal needs that result in the desire to seek out relationships. The need for affection focuses on the need to feel liked or loved and the need to provide that to others. The need for inclusion focuses on our need to feel important and valued and the need to provide that to others.
The need for control results from our need to have responsibility and leadership, and to what extent
