How is credit card interest calculated?
What will be an ideal response?
Interest is calculated on unpaid balances-that is, the money you owe but do not pay from one monthly billing cycle to another. Credit card companies tend to charge rather high interest, in some instances as high as 21 percent on outstanding amounts. If you do not pay your credit card bill in its entirety-or if you make only minimum payments-you will accrue a substantial amount of interest. In addition to charging high interest, some credit card companies add penalties (extra fees) for late or incomplete payments.
