Examine the overall size of your game (pixel by pixel). What percentage of your screen real estate could be dedicated to your controls?

Students may complete this exercise after creating sketches in Exercise 3 or after having a working prototype or demo of their game available for testing on a Mac system (depending on the focus of the course and instructor preference). The goal of this exercise is to determine the percentage of screen real estate that should be dedicated to game controls (and whether or not this percentage is being met by students’ games thus far). In order to make this determination, instructors might opt to have students play various Mac games and analyze types of interfaces and use of screen real estate.
