CASE tools provide an overall framework for systems development and support a wide variety of design methodologies, including structured analysis and object-oriented analysis. CASE tools can boost IT productivity and improve the quality of the finished product. For example, developers use CASE tools to maintain design integrity, manage a complex project, and generate a wide variety of business, process, and data models. Many CASE tools can be used to build prototypes and generate code modules that speed up implementation. Two popular CASE tool examples are Visible Analyst, and IBM’s Rational software.
