D
Retinoblastoma is a malignant glioma located in the posterior chamber of the eye seen as a yellowish or white light reflex (cat's eye reflex). An absent red reflex can be caused by cataracts. Possible causes of cataracts in newborns are chromosomal disorders, intrauterine infections, and ocular trauma. Bleeding into the optic nerve sheath is the result of retinal hemorrhage and is found in children who have been physically shaken (shaken baby syndrome). It appears as a red to dark-red color, and some areas may be rounded or flame shaped.
