Physical limitations may make caring for a home more difficult. Understanding persons expected changes as result of the aging process enables social workers to observe and report changes that don’t seem to fall within normal expectations. Assisting the older adults make accommodations within the home may be useful in retaining independent living. Recognizing the severity of the physical limitations may also help in securing additional outside resources.
