Outline the importance instilling values of healthy sexuality in children from a young age.
What will be an ideal response?
Encouraging healthy sexuality and sexual well-being in childhood and adolescence involves accepting the fact that we humans are sexual beings from the very beginning moments of life. Like all humans, children want to understand what is going on around them. We cannot shut that curiosity down without doing great harm to our children, their bodies, and their emotional ability to handle their future sexuality. Once we accept this, we can begin to instill healthy, positive, and age-appropriate teaching and messages about sexual well-being from very early on in children's lives. Approaching communication in this way helps to ensure that children grow up with a positive attitude about their own sexuality and understand how to make healthy decisions that allow them to enjoy their own sexual development.
