What is the role of technology in writing instruction?

What will be an ideal response?

Technology has allowed writing, and writing instruction, to come a long way. Using computers makes composing, drafting, editing, and revising easier. Word-processing and desktop publishing programs have made publishing possible. Students can now produce their own stories as well as signs, forms, flyers, newsletters, and newspapers, along with graphics and illustrations. Using Web 2.0 capabilities, students can also contribute to classroom Wikis and use blogs or instant messaging to communicate with the teacher and each other. There are also numerous apps that can be used to aid composing.
