What are some of the primary concerns of social activists since 1991?

What will be an ideal response?

Some of the major areas of protest surround issues like the globalization of economies, the degradation of the environment, and the continuing violence of weapons and war as the world's most serious problems. The first of these challenges was to undo the economic and political legacies of the cold war. After the fall of communism, however, the former communist nations became part of a global market dynamic and engaged in trade with the European Union (EU). Many are also trying to preserve the particular character of European culture in this era of increasing homogenization and dominance of global economic and political concerns.
