You have used a lineup to aide you in the identification process of a murder suspect. In doing this you realize that the court will consider six factors when determining if a suspect identification is reliable or not. Define what these six are and state

how you will ensure this is a reliable process.

What will be an ideal response?

The opportunity of the witness to view the criminal at the time of the crime, the witness's degree of attention, the accuracy of the witness's prior description of the criminal, the level of certainty demonstrated by the witness at the confrontation, the length of time between the crime and the confrontation, and whether the witness was a "casual observer" or the victim of the crime. To ensure validity and reliability, the process will remove suggestibility during the process.
