Discuss at least three concerns about sexuality and relationships as it pertains to persons with developmental disabilities.
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Sexuality is important to everyone and is a natural part of a human experience. However, persons with disabilities are often shut out of such experiences. They have been denied sexual rights and expression. There is an absence of developmentally appropriate instruction about healthy sexual expression for this population. They must be perceived as being able to learn sexual self-advocacy so they can speak up for themselves regarding their sexuality.
