What positive and negative consequences have resulted from the U.S. time orientation?
What will be an ideal response?
Positive consequences include motivation for living a good life for your future, such as going to college or getting a good job. Negative consequences include being less aware of the present, having less time and appreciation for what is happening in the moment. Some would even say that living the future in the present is an illusion because the future is not yet here—it is unreal. In living for something that isn’t real, one misses much of the reality of the present.
