Describe how a runner can prevent shin splints
What will be an ideal response?
Shin splints refer to pain associated with injuries to the front of the lower leg; the condition is common among runners but can be prevented by running on soft surfaces, wearing well-padded, shock-absorbing shoes, and by slowly increasing exercise intensity from walking to running. Stretching muscles in the front and back of the lower leg may also help to prevent the problem.
