Undecided

- One may prefer to delay making a commitment
- One may be uninformed, immature, lack self-knowledge and occupational information, and/or a combination of all these factors
- One may simply have the ability to pursue multiple careers and is unable to decide
Decided
- One has made a career decision with little hesitation
- One may need assistance in confirming the decision
- One could have decided to avoid the anxiety usually experienced with indecision in the career choice process
Indecisive
- Indecisive individuals are characterized as constantly changing their career choice or simply not making one
- Indecisive clients usually experience high levels of anxiety and faulty cognitions
- One may be confused by irrational beliefs
- Indecisive clients can lack self-confidence, experience low self-esteem, and have yet to develop a sense of identity
- Counselors may refer clients to appropriate professionals for treatment and/or provide personal counseling before continuing with career counseling
