Describe dominant life stories.
What will be an ideal response?
Dominant stories are often problem saturated. Individuals’ dominant stories usually have a major impact on their daily coping and living as well as the life path they choose. Narrative therapy focuses on how our important life stories can get written and rewritten or reauthored. For instance, the student just mentioned needed to rewrite certain negative events which he had overemphasized in his story. A reauthored story would magnify the boy’s positive behaviors, which he had minimized.
