Veneer gypsum base is secured to studs and covered with one or two coats of veneer plaster. The first coat is a thin layer that is covered by a second thin coat before the first one has hardened. The second coat is troweled to the desired texture. Veneer plaster usually hardens completely within twenty-four hours.
