The circle is a geometric form that appears in the earliest manifestations of art and architecture. Can you speculate its appeal?

What will be an ideal response?

The circle was important to many ancient civilizations. This is perhaps related to their interest in the sun and other celestial bodies. Stonehenge, which is by far the most famous of all cromlech megaliths, was a large circle within which two circular stone structures were constructed. Although not all scholars agree on its function or purpose, it is oriented toward the rising sun at the summer solstice.
