What difference does it make if you use the absolute or relative scale in the weighting function? Which one would you recommend and why?

A rating scale can be very subjective and difficult to create from an absolute point of view. A relative scale is easier since the designer is only comparing two elements at a time, hence, it would be my recommended approach.
