Why should we understand uncertainty reduction theory?

What will be an ideal response?

In daily life, we encounter situations and people with whom we are not familiar. We
experience feelings of uncertainty when these situations and people present themselves. Being
able to reduce uncertainty and increase predictability gives us greater control when
communicating with others. We can then determine if further interaction can help us meet our
goals.
