Explain what the SDLC model is and how it can be helpful in your project planning.

What will be an ideal response?

SDLC stands for systems development life cycle. It is a model commonly used to manage the development of a new information system, but it can be modified and applied to almost any project. The methodology typically consists of five to seven phases. The model that is commonly used has six stages within a project: definition, evaluation, design, installation, implementation, and maintenance.

SDLC models have been studied and implemented in corporations throughout the world. When building a project file, a project manager can use these SDLC categories as the phases or summary tasks in a project. Using the SDLC model as the foundation for a project should result in a high-quality project that meets or exceeds customer expectations, comes in on time and within the budget, and works effectively and efficiently.
