Describe the differences between the nurturist perspective and the naturist perspective
What will be an ideal response?
The nurturist perspective suggests that children acquire language as a result of the direct interaction with caregivers in their environment. Some believed that language is learned through operant conditioning and some believe language is learned through social interactions with caregivers. The naturist perspective focuses on the belief that language is an innate ability and children only need exposure to language for these inborn abilities to be set in motion. Some believe that when children are exposed to novel words in a sentence, they are able to use their innate understanding of grammar to decipher the meaning of novel words. Others believe that children use their inborn conceptual knowledge to create grammatical categories, and then use that knowledge to acquire words.
