Discuss the application of the Totality of the Circumstances test when it comes to juveniles

What will be an ideal response?

When juveniles are questioned by police about crimes they might have committed, the totality of the circumstances test is used to determine whether the juveniles made their statements voluntarily and whether they voluntarily waived the right of the self-incrimination clause following a Miranda warning. The presence or absence of the juveniles' parents during questioning is often an issue in these determinations. In Fare v. Michael the U.S. Supreme Court held that the age and experience of the juvenile must be considered in reaching that decision, but that the denial of a juvenile's request to talk to his parents would not in every case make the resulting statements inadmissible.
