Why do a person's interpersonal skills depend on him or her having a good attitude toward work?

Employees who have a positive attitude toward work are upbeat and optimistic, and they respect their coworkers and have a friendly attitude toward them. They support the goals of their department and their employer. They work hard and check their work so that others don't have to fix their mistakes. They meet their deadlines so they don't create work (and stress) for others. They do their share of the work on teams, and when they have downtime they offer to help a coworker who has a tight deadline. They don't grumble or complain about their workload, and when things are tough, they try hard to remain upbeat. The list goes on and on.
