Compare and contrast Grant's idea of giving with emotional intelligence postulated by Goleman
What will be an ideal response?
Givers, according to Grant, are more concerned with others preferring to help others and being generous with time, skills, and social networks. Givers are the ones who provide overall effective leadership and benefits to the organization. Emotional intelligence is in many ways linked to the idea of "giving" in that leaders have to understand motivation and empathy when dealing with subordinates. They also need to have social skills in collaboration and cooperation especially with teams.
However, emotional intelligence could be used as a way to provide an advantage for "takers" who only take other people feelings and predicaments into the equation if it fits their needs.
