Given the information above, what do you think was the root cause of all the problems and why?
You are working on a robot that has a servo drive alarm and find blown fuses on the drive. In
the course of gathering information, you discover that the motor has a loose connection, which
caused it to overheat, damaging the internal windings and the motor encoder. Once you replace
the motor and encoder, you get another servo drive alarm that indicates there is a bad card in the
drive.
The root cause is likely the loose motor connection. This caused the motor to
overheat which is what damaged the encoder. This also likely caused the motor to pull
too much amperage and that is what damaged the drive and blew the fuses.
