Why is it important to understand the concept of life chances?
What will be an ideal response?
It is important to understand the concept of life chances to better understand local and global inequality. Some may assume that individuals in poor communities are just lazy, but in reality, there are many social structures preventing them from experiencing upward mobility. If we broadly assume that disadvantaged individuals have the agency to improve their situations by simply working hard enough, we are ignoring the ways in which our global economy is failing them.
