Explain what your textbook means by "Speaking tends to be redundant."

What will be an ideal response?

Speaking tends to be redundant because the speaker tends to say the same message in a different way. Sometimes when a speaker sends a message it may not be clearly understood by the listener. When the speaker says the same message in another way, it may become clearer to the listener. Oral language is redundant or repetitious, with backlooping to help people keep up with the flow of the conversation.
