According to the text, describe 3 practical bits of advice concerning planning for instruction

What will be an ideal response?

Responses will vary but should be from among the following:
• Over-plan rather than under-plan to avoid wasting valuable class time. It's much easier to eliminate plan elements than it is to improvise in meaningful ways.
• Check for levels of Bloom's taxonomy, use of multiple intelligences theory, differentiation to meet student needs—all the aspects that help ensure effective instruction.
• Regardless of where you are in your plan, allow time for closure that wraps up the lesson.
• Never leave school without a written plan for the following day.
• Gather materials and arrange for resources at least a day ahead. The copier seems to know when we wait until the last minute and breaks down to teach us to plan ahead!
• Be flexible. This is possible when we know the content, practice a variety of instructional strategies, and plan thoughtfully. Interruptions happen. They are inevitable. Altering our plans may be necessary for academic reasons as well as any number of other occurrences totally outside our control.
• Spend time reflecting on lessons. Consider what worked well, what could have been better, and how to alter/adapt plans to be used in the future. Remember, there's always tomorrow. We can fill in gaps and make adjustments in the following day's plans if we take the time to reflect on our lessons.
• Keep notes about the things you might change or add as resources for future planning.
