Manufacturers must also comply with specific laws regarding product quality and safety. The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Consumer Product Safety Act are just two of many laws that protect consumers from potentially harmful products. If consumers have been injured by a product that has a defective design, they can sue manufacturers or dealers.
