Predict water movement across a membrane by osmosis when a concentration gradient is present

What will be an ideal response?

Water moves from a solution with a lower solute concentration (and more water molecules) across a membrane to a solution with a higher solute concentration (and fewer water molecules). The net movement of water molecules stops once equilibrium is reached and the concentrations of the two solutions are equal.
