What are the advantages of V-type cylinders?

What will be an ideal response?

When an engine has more than four cylinders, a V-type engine has an advantage over an in-line engine. A V-type engine is considerably shorter in length. Therefore, a completely assembled V-type engine usually weighs less than an in-line engine with the same number of cylinders. On a V-type engine, connecting rods from two cylinders on opposite banks will share one connecting rod journal. Thus, the engine block requires fewer main bearing supports.
