In what ways can inclusive language shape our social world? Give an example.
What will be an ideal response?
As individuals, we have the power to control the way we use words and the meaning of them. Inclusive language allows for everyone to be included in the message and not feel excluded or insignificant. Using words like policeman or chairman excludes the possibility of thinking that females can participate in these positions. Inclusive language allows words like police officer and chairperson to correct those social inequities and change our stereotypical thinking.
