What are the benefits and drawbacks of having no single point of failure in a network?

What will be an ideal response?

The benefit is that any link can or device can fail in a network without compromising the ability to deliver the traffic from the sender to the receiver, which positively impacts the availability and uptime of the network. The problem with incorporating this kind of redundancy into the network is that it adds expense and complexity to the network design; often it means that you will have to have duplicate hardware and duplicate connections among the hardware. The expense may not be worth the increase in availability, especially if the devices are easy to repair and have a low rate of failure at manufacture.
