What is a life review? How is this related to achieving integrity? What is the result of achieving integrity?

What will be an ideal response?

In Erikson's theory, the last stage of psychosocial development is called integrity versus despair, in which a person looks back over their life (or conducts a life review) to reflect on the events and experiences that they have had. To achieve integrity, Erikson felt that a person must come to terms with the choices and events that have made his or her life unique. There must also be an acceptance of the fact that one's life is drawing to a close.

Erikson emphasized that people who demonstrate integrity have made many different choices and follow many different lifestyles; the point is that everyone has this opportunity to achieve integrity if they strive for it. Those who reach integrity become self-affirming and self-accepting; they judge their lives to have been worthwhile and good. They are glad to have lived the lives they did.
