Describe the various scientific roles that zoos fulfill.
What will be an ideal response?
As natural habitats of many animals are destroyed, zoos are conservators of these animals who are losing their places to live. Preservation is a key role as zoos cooperate with one another in breeding programs for these animals. Sometimes captive species can be reintroduced into natural habitats such as a preserve. It is also a critical role of zoos in science education to make the public aware of the loss of diversity in our world through the loss of natural habitats.
