Discuss how the police affect education
What will be an ideal response?
Given the general wariness with which democracies have treated extensions in the reach of the police, it should not surprise us that efforts to involve the police in educational activities have generally been greeted with some suspicion. Traditionally, therefore, the two agencies and their personnel did not interact. the police have become more involved in schools and with students over time. Although the police have carried out programs involving children and young adults (e.g., Police Athletic Leagues, Officer Friendly school liaison programs) for quite some time, the two most prominent recent examples of this are the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education or Drug Awareness Resistance Education or Drugs And Alcohol Reduction Education) programs and the School Resource Officer (SRO) programs.
