In today's classrooms teachers must make careful decisions about how to spend instructional time. Why should teachers include time for study skills instruction in an already overcrowded curriculum?

What will be an ideal response?

Developing study skills is an essential element of the repertoire of skills needed in order to be a successful student. If teachers do not offer direct instruction in study skills, then the students who stand to suffer the most are those with disabilities or linguistic differences because they are the least likely to just naturally pick up these skills on their own. Despite the already overcrowded curriculum, we must include study skills in order for students to continue progressing in their learning.
