What have we learned over the years about the differences between men and women when it comes to political participation, opinions, and political preferences?

What will be an ideal response?

A gender gap has existed for some time. Women have generally supported Democratic candidates in recent elections. The gap reflects differences between men and women as to what policies are important and how policy questions should be decided. Once, people thought abortion was the major divide, but in fact abortion is one of the few policies that men and women are close on. The real divides are social welfare and foreign policy.
