Trace a drop of blood as it enters the vena cava and travels through the heart and body. Include the major vessels and the heart chambers and valves in your answer

What will be an ideal response?

Deoxygenated blood from the tissues enters the right atrium via the vena cava, which then flows through the tricuspid valve to the right ventricle and flows through the pulmonary semilunar valve to pulmonary arteries to lungs, where the blood is oxygenated. Blood returns to the heart through pulmonary veins to the left atrium and passes through the bicuspid valve to left ventricle, which pumps the oxygenated blood past the aortic semilunar valve into the aorta to the body.
