Three categories: 1) most familiar, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD); 2) belladonna alkaloids; 3) dissociative anesthetics or horse tranquilizers including phencyclidine (PCP) and ketamine (used on children and in vet practices). Trip—nausea, feeling jittery, and mild increase in blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing. The effects include slight distortion of sensory perception with visual effects such as wavering images and distortion of size. Can cause schizophrenia-like psychosis
