While trying to manage weight, what are the benefits of choosing whole foods over processed foods?

What will be an ideal response?

Whole foods have not been previously processed or broken down, thus more time and energy is required by the digestive system to break them down, which helps us feel full longer and prevents blood sugar spikes. Whole foods typically contain more fiber than processed foods, and people are more likely to increase the intake of vitamins and nutrients. When cooking whole foods, the amount of fat, salt, and other ingredients added to the meal is under our control. Whole foods are more likely to have naturally pleasing flavors, while processed foods can have exaggerated flavors that dull the palate.
