Discuss the Persian religion and how it differed from the other religions of the Iron and Bronze age.

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary, but students should demonstrate an understanding of the Persian concept of dualism, which viewed the world in a perpetual conflict between good and evil. Persian skygods, or deavas, were in battle with ahuras, who were abstract moral qualities of good. Persians also differed from the monotheistic Hebrews and polytheistic cultures of Mesopotamia, through the development of Zoroastrianism, which emphasized personal responsibility and a sense of divine morality.
