What is the process of natural selection?
What will be an ideal response?
Individuals with physical or behavioral (or other) attributes that suit them to their habitat will survive and produce more offspring than other individuals not so well-endowed. Nature "selects" for the better-suited individuals indirectly as evidenced by their greater contributions to the next generation. The environment dictates the direction and extent of the change.
