Explain why a compression test alone is not a good indication of engine condition and what other test is more comprehensive.

What will be an ideal response?

Compression test results can be deceiving. If the engine is not stock or the battery doesn't turn the engine over fast enough, or if the testing procedures are not done correctly, the test may indicate that the engine should be disassembled when it is actually in good running condition. You should perform a leak down test if the engine in question fails the compression test. A leak down test will pinpoint the problem area if there is one.
